IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System.

The IELTS exam is a standardized test designed to assess the English language proficiency of individuals who intend to study, work, or migrate to English-speaking countries. It evaluates four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

The four sections in IELTS are Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.

IELTS is scored on a band scale from 0 to 9. Each of the four sections (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) receives an individual band score, and the overall band score is an average of these four scores. The minimum score required for immigration varies from 6.5 to 8.0, depending on the country. Since different countries and programs may have specific score requirements, it is crucial to check the guidelines provided by the respective immigration authorities.

There is no restriction on the number of times you can take the IELTS exam in India. You can retake the test as many times as needed to achieve your desired score.

IELTS scores are generally valid for two years from the test date. After this period, the scores may not be accepted by institutions.

IELTS on computer results will be available online within 3 to 5 days after your test date. IELTS on paper results will be available online 13 days after the test.

TRF stands for Test Report Form, a unique identification number assigned to your IELTS score report. This number is necessary for institutions to access and verify your results.

You can request the IELTS test center to send your scores directly to institutions by providing their details during registration. The first five (5) electronic ATRFs would be processed free of charge. For any additional electronic score reporting, there will be an administrative charge of INR 250 (Two Hundred Fifty only)/- per university. IELTS One Skill Retake allows you to retake a single skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) for improvement. Eligibility requires completing a full computer-based test, receiving your IELTS score, and booking the retake within 60 days of the original test. The new Test Report Form will include the One Skill Retake result and previous scores, dated the same as the original test.
